Framing Concept
A strategy is only as powerful as the belief it inspires. In this module, participants explore Agenda 2063 as Africa’s Development Strategy and examine its bold promise against the sobering realities of progress so far.
Objectives
- Unpack the value proposition of Agenda 2063 and its meaning for citizens.
- Reflect on the credibility gap: what was promised vs. what was delivered.
- Introduce the “Power Spaces” lens—asking: Is Agenda 2063 shaping real decisions?
- Inspire ownership through evidence, introspection, and exposure.
Content
- What is Africa promising its people by 2063? Who is the promise for?
- Understanding the shock of 2023:
- → Only 12% of Agenda 2063 FTYIP achieved
- → Only 15% of SDG targets on track
- Rebuilding belief through the STYIP: A new chance for credibility and action.
- Are we talking about Agenda 2063 in the spaces that matter—Cabinets, UNCTs, RECs, Boardrooms, Youth Forums?
Key Messages
- Africa’s transformation requires more than ambition—it needs belief, evidence, and institutional traction.
- Power Spaces shape outcomes—Agenda 2063 must be present in them.
- Youth must not only be aware—but assertive advocates of Africa’s Development Strategy.
